Quick update for Friday, June 19

Just in case anyone is reading this, a full update should be done by tomorrow afternoon at the latest.

For now, though, there are two new/surprise openings this week, and one update for down the road and over the horizon.  The first surprise is the Bollywood/Disney sequel, ABCD 2 (Any Body Can Dance 2), which starts today at the AMC Castleton Square 14.  I haven't checked the schedule for every day of the coming week, but it looks like at least two showings per day will be in 3D- and it isn't that often that Indian films are shown in theaters around here in 3D, although something tells me that this isn't the first Indian 3D movie to screen in an area theater.

Even more surprisingly, the drama 5 Flights Up, with Diane Keaton and Morgan Freeman, starts today at the AMC Indianapolis 17 on the south side.  This is so unexpected because the film has been available On Demand since May 8, and if it was going to open in or around Indy, I would have thought that that would have happened several weeks ago.  But instead, here it is now....

The over the horizon/up the road title is Infinitely Polar Bear, with Mark Ruffalo and Zoe Saldana.  Just this week, the "View Theaters" link was added to the official site, and it says that the film will open at the Keystone Art Cinema on July31.
